Premier Sport Psychology was founded in St. Paul, Minnesota by Justin Anderson in 2009. The vision was to create a sport and performance consulting firm in the Twin Cities that served both athletes and businesses alike – they named the firm JSA Sport Psychology. However, it soon became clear that it was difficult to expand into both the sport and business realms as one entity, as clients found it difficult to understand that JSA Sport Psychology served both athletes and businesses.
In 2011, Carlin Anderson joined the practice and the companies were split, with the new company, Premier Sport Psychology serving athletes and JSA Advising serving businesses. We soon outgrew the original office space in St. Paul, and moved to Edina, Minnesota in the fall of 2013. Since the inception, both businesses have flourished, with Premier owning most of the market share of sport psychology services not only in the Twin Cities, but the state of Minnesota. Premier Sport Psychology is now among the largest sport and performance firms in the country. At Premier, we know optimal performance and wellness are connected, and our providers are experts in both.
