We reveal the SUPER in every child! Since MetroEHS's inception, our charter is to provide the highest quality speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and psychological services for individuals from infancy through adulthood. Our team of therapists assists clients in areas of speech, handwriting, central nervous system alignment (sensory integration therapy), feeding, fine and gross motor coordination, and social skills.
MetroEHS Pediatric Therapy provides services at our Therapy Centers across the Metro Detroit area as well as screenings for educational organizations (daycares, preschools and private schools) and staffing services for Special Education and Healthcare facilities across the state. Our unique strategy to assist others involves many therapy disciplines in one location, creating ease for caregivers of children that may need this approach to succeed. Our services include: ABA Therapy, Feeding/Swallowing Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy & Speech Therapy. Affordable screenings for Speech-Language development, fine & gross motor development, sensory impairment and autism are also offered. We have 17 clinics in Southeast Michigan and are rapidly expanding!
Dearborn Speech and Sensory Center, Inc., (DSSC Inc.) was established in 2001 by Certified and Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist Lori Shaffer Clarke. Since its founding, DSSC Inc. has experienced steady growth by providing physical therapy, occupational therapy, and psychological/social work services in addition to speech therapy.
In 2002, Shaffer Clarke added occupational therapy services to develop a summer group therapy program for 55 children who needed speech therapy and sensory integration therapy. “Team Speech and Sensory Summer Camp” has been an outstanding success and continues to be offered each year through two summer sessions.
In 2003, we celebrated the opening of our first facility located at 23936 Michigan Avenue in Dearborn, Michigan. The facility housed a 2,800 sq. ft. sensory gymnasium, speech therapy rooms, and a room for handwriting.
Soon after the opening of our center, DSSC Inc. quickly expanded to provide therapists and therapy services to several school systems within Michigan. Because of the rapidly growing demand for therapists, Shaffer Clarke launched Therapy Solutions Unlimited in 2005 to help recruit and place therapists. Today, we have many therapists offering private therapy sessions and servicing home health agencies, public schools, and public school academies throughout Michigan.
MetroEHS quickly outgrew our Michigan Avenue office in Dearborn, Michigan. We have since moved into various locations across the Detroit Metropolitan area - hence the launch of Metropolitan Education & Healthcare Services. This move would focus on our 3 main parts of our business:

Our Metropolitan Speech, Sensory, & ABA centers are the result of parents asking for a one-stop shop for Speech, OT & ABA therapy.
