Accessible care: Cumberland Family Medical Center, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation, established to assure that residents of our service areas have access to high quality primary and preventative health services regardless of ability-to-pay. We serve 33 counties in south central and a portion of north central Kentucky. Our medical centers work together and have access to the resources of the Cumberland Family Medical Center, Inc. network while maintaining the ability to provide individual and compassionate care to the local community.

A leader in care: In 2023, CFMC, Inc. was named a recipient of the Health Center Quality Leader Gold Badge from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) as part of their annual Community Health Center Quality Recognition based on the 2022 Uniform Data System (UDS) data. The Gold Badge recognizes the top 10% of health centers in the nation, which was awarded to 144 health
centers out of the approximately 1400 health centers in the nation. CFMC was also the recipient of three additional quality badges: 2023 Access Enhancer, 2023 Health Disparities Reducer, and 2023 Advancing HIT for Quality. Cumberland Family Medical Center, Inc. was started in 2007 as the result of a group of concerned citizens' desire to provide better healthcare for their rural area. Led by local physician, Dr. Eric Loy, community health center funding was applied for and awarded. From two small clinics in 2007, Cumberland Family Medical Center, Inc. has quickly grown to over 230 locations across 33 Kentucky counties.
As a Federally Qualified Health Center, CFMC accepts all patients regardless of economic or insurance status and provides primary care, immediate care, pediatrics, oral health, behavioral/mental health, substance use disorder/MAT treatment, OB/GYN, school-based health care, a pediatric wellness program, workplace wellness clinics, outreach services, local scholarships, and more. With over 1,100 employees, CFMC is the largest FQHC in Kentucky and the 16th largest in the nation based on number of patients.
