Description The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute fights cancer on two fronts: It provides treatment to cancer patients, young and old, and researches new cancer diagnostics, treatments, and preventions. The organization's scientists also research AIDS treatments and cures for a host of other deadly diseases. Patients receive treatment from Dana-Farber through its cancer centers operated in conjunction with Brigham and Women's Hospital, Children's Hospital Boston, and Massachusetts General Hospital. The institute is also a principal teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School. Dana-Farber is funded by the National Cancer Institute, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, and private contributions.
