Description Diversified regional truckload carrier Evergreen Transportation operates in the eastern and southeastern US. The company's trailer fleet includes tankers designed to carry dry bulk cargo, liquid cargo, solid waste, standard dry vans, and flatbed trailers. Evergreen's bulk division is its largest. Evergreen operates from terminals in Alabama, Florida, and Georgia. Virginia-based Marquis Holdings owns Evergreen, which was founded in 1988 by chairman emeritus Walter Poole and his son, Pat Poole. The Poole family sold the company to Marquis Holdings in 2004. In August 2009, Evergreen Transportation voluntarily entered Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. It is continuing to operate while it restructures.
