Description Hyde Tools makes surface preparation hand tools for drywall, painting, and plumbing professionals. The company manufactures about 2,000 products, including industrial knives and surface preparation tools (scrapers, trowels), are sold worldwide through retailers, such as McCoy Corp. and Sherwin-Williams and online. In 1875 Isaac P. Hyde founded Hyde Manufacturing, then specializing in mill blades, in his garage. Hyde eventually sold the majority of his stock to Joseph Lacroix and Myron Clemence. Clemence's son and grandson ran the company (now Hyde Tools) in the 1970s. Some of his descendants are involved in the business today, including CEO Rick Clemence.
