Description The luminous phenomenon that Aurora Platinum looks for is precious metal. The company explores for a variety of minerals, including platinum group minerals and nickel-cobalt-copper minerals, on properties somewhere in the middle of Montana. Those projects are located in the Stillwater Intrusive Complex, one of the world's most platinum-rich areas. Aurora Platinum also is exploring for lead and zinc in Tunisia. In 2008, Canadian miner Nevoro, whose operations are primarily in the western US, bought what was then called Aurora Metals for about $35 million. The company then changed its name soon after.
