Founded by Harry Bentley in 1917 as a school of accounting and finance, Bentley University (formerly Bentley College) now offers both undergraduate and graduate degree programs and an enrollment of more than 5,000 students. The focus at Bentley is on business; the school was a pioneer in integrating information technology into the business curriculum. However, in the belief that businesspeople need a broad education, Bentley requires a general education core of classes in behavioral and social sciences, English, and other subjects in the humanities, math, and natural sciences.
