Kumho Tire can really get around. The company, spun off from South Korea-based Kumho Industrial in 2003, makes tires for passenger cars, SUVs and trucks, and off-road vehicles. The company's affiliates include Hyundai, Mitsubishi, and Volkswagen. In 2006 Kumho opened a corporate technical center in China to provide technological and research services for its various subsidiaries throughout that country. The company has R&D centers in the UK and the US, as well as in its homeland. Kumho Tire is South Korea's second largest tire manufacturer, after Hankook Tire.
