With a nearly 30% market share, dtac is Thailand's second-largest wireless telecom, behind AIS. It also operates a chain of retail stores throughout Thailand. Dtac is owned by United Communication Industry (UCOM), which is in turn owned by the Asia unit of Norway's Telenor. It's the first Thai company to be listed on both the Singapore and Thai stock exchanges. The company kicked off operations in 1989.
