The Hive Group's Honeycomb applications bring some sweetness to the task of managing business assets. The company develops visual analysis software used to track and value corporate assets and to address a variety of business intelligence tasks. Its treemap software, invented by director Ben Shneiderman in the early 1990s, has been used by Chevron, Intel, and Sun for the purpose of purchasing analysis, as well as inventory and internal quality data tracking. The Hive Group focuses primarily on corporate internal applications.
