Velocys is a chemical processor manufacturer that works with oil, gas, and fuel companies to provide them with cost-efficient technologies, methods, and services for their chemical processing, production system, and regulation system needs. Velocys also caters to the military by providing logistical supply lines, such as cryogenic cooling systems, man-portable devices, and protection from chemical attack. In late 2008 the UK's Oxford Catalysts Group acquired Velocys in a $35 million reverse acquisition. The two companies have been collaborating since May 2007. Oxford Catalysts makes specialty catalysts for the generation of clean fuels.
