Description The University of Scranton is a Catholic and Jesuit liberal arts university with a student population of about 5,600, including some 1,000 graduate students. Its schools and colleges include the College of Arts & Sciences, Panuska College of Professional Studies, and Kania School of Management. It offers programs in areas such as theology, music, technology, athletics, nursing, and continuing education and has some 300 faculty members. The University of Scranton was founded in 1888 as Saint Thomas College. It is overseen by the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits).
