This company doesn't want to be just one of the herd in the ice cream business. MaggieMoo's International operates a chain of nearly 200 franchised MaggieMoo's Ice Cream & Treatery shops in more than 40 states, and in Puerto Rico and Thailand. The frozen treat parlors offer a wide variety of premium high-butterfat ice cream flavors that can be augmented with candy, fruit, and nuts ("mix-ins") folded into the ice cream. The chain's menu also includes shakes, smoothies, and frozen cakes. Juel Tillery started the chain in 1989; investment firm NexCen Brands acquired MaggieMoo's in 2007.
