To deliver value to TMSC in the short, medium and long term by creating innovative solutions to real problems in the medical imaging domain.
TMVS is a research and development centre that creates advanced visualization software for use in medical scanners (for example CT, MRI, Ultrasound). There are over 100 software engineers, scientists, clinical specialists, testers and other staff at our Edinburgh office.
Our software is integrated into Toshiba's scanner products and is in use in hospitals across the world. We work closely with specialist staff within Toshiba's Medical Systems Division in Japan, China and the US, and we have strong links with local hospitals and universities.
Our work is challenging but very rewarding. We deal predominantly with large medical image data sets, which creates a range of problems:
-Processing very large data sets
-Real time, interactive volumetric rendering
-Machine learning to identify specific features
-Deploying Applications over the Internet and on mobile devices
These challenges demand innovative solutions, which means we need highly qualified and motivated staff.
