Description Taqua knows a thing or two about switches. The company provides switching products and services for small to midsized carriers in the telecommunications industry. It's also switched ownership a few times since its founding in 1998. Taqua is now an independent company, having bought its freedom from GENBAND in 2007 after first being sold to Tekelec in 2004. Its flagship product, the T7000, is a softswitch system that runs on a single circuit pack, which makes it less expensive to operate since it has fewer components. Customers include incumbent local exchange carriers (ILECs), competitive local exchange carriers (CLECs), cable multiple service operators (MSOs), and wireless carriers.
