An active long-term investor that partners with its portfolio holdings to foster growth, it targets small, but promising, companies in the business services, consumer, and energy sectors. The firm typically provides £5 million to £15 million (about $8 million to $24 million) in initial funding and often makes follow-up investments. Valued at more than £250 million ($400 million), its portfolio consists of stakes in more than a dozen companies. LMS, formerly Leo Capital, was spun off from London Merchant Securities in 2006.
