Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited, or PTCL, keeps callers connected from Karachi to Islamabad. As the top communications services provider in the country, it offers consumers and businesses with basic landline, DSL broadband, digital television, and IP telephony services. The company also provides wholesale services such as network traffic routing, interconnection, and call termination to other carriers. Wireless phone services are provided by subsidiary Pakistan Telecom Mobile, which operates as Ufone, and PTCL provides connectivity to remote areas through its Skylink satellite service over the Intelsat network. United Arab Emirates-based Emirates Telecommunications (Etisalat) owns about one-quarter of PTCL.
