Mission “Improving Communities by Improving Lives”
Description CareStar was founded in 1988 in Cincinnati, Ohio and continues as an industry leader in the field of Long-Term Case Management, Assessment, Population Health Management and innovative Software Development Solutions. CareStar developed an online education system in 2006 to serve the continuing educational needs of Home Health Aides/Agencies, Personal Care Technicians and Certified Nursing Assistants.   In addition to our clinical and online learning expertise, our software services provide applications, report writing, data management, query development and other technology services.  We strive to help organizations achieve peak performance and efficiency through our software applications and technology services. 
Today, CareStar provides Case Management services in all 88 counties of Ohio, provides services in the states of Indiana, Kentucky, Pennsylvania and Georgia, and has an employee base of over 400. For over 31 years, the Programs that CareStar supports has helped individuals with chronic health conditions and/or disabilities live safely and independently in their own homes and communities.
CareStar is HITRUST Certified, by the Health Information Trust (HITRUST) Alliance.  As a value to our customers, this Certification is a result of meeting rigorous healthcare regulations and requirements for protecting and securing sensitive and private healthcare information, significantly improving the security environment encompassing third party privacy, security and compliance. In addition to the HITRUST Certification, CareStar is proud to be credentialed as a Quality Improvement Organization-like (QIO-like) entity, administered by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).  



Additional accolades include being accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) with commendation, having an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, and being a 2018 finalist for the Better Business Bureau’s Torch Award for Business Ethics. Finally, CareStar was a 2017 and 2019 Goering Center Family and Private Business Finalist for Private Businesses with more than 101 employees. The annual honor is bestowed upon only two (2) companies. This exemplifies what family and private business is and should be.
