Mater brings together collective expertise across Health, Education and Research to improve the health and wellbeing of Queenslanders.
Queensland’s largest not-for-profit hospital network, Mater operates 11 hospitals across the state and delivers healthcare to Queenslanders in their own homes and local communities through Mater at Home. To ensure the next generation of healthcare workers, Mater Education, a nationally accredited education provider, provides a Diploma of Nursing course as well as a range of certificate qualifications in healthcare services. Mater Research, a world-class research institute, develops improved and cutting-edge treatments for Queenslanders, particularly in the areas of mothers and babies, neurosciences and cancer. Mater Foundation is the fundraising philanthropic arm of Mater, enabling vital laboratory bench-to-bedside research, and ensuring all Queenslanders have access to world-class healthcare services, regardless of where they live across the state. Mater is owned by Mercy Partners.
