Description Pharmacopeia has searched its libraries and found some promising compounds. The biotech drug discovery firm has moved from sifting through and identifying small molecule compounds, to actually taking a handful into clinical trials. Its candidates include possible therapies for hypertension and renal diseases, a non-steroidal treatment for muscle wasting, a chemokin receptor antagonist that might be useful in treating inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, and a treatment for psoriasis. It has built up a pipeline with a mix of its own discoveries and other programs it has licensed from larger companies. Pharmacopeia was acquired by drug discovery firm Ligand Pharmaceuticals in late 2008.
