Liberty Point Behavioral Healthcare, LLC, located in Staunton, VA, provides trauma-informed residential treatment for adolescent males, ages 12-17, with psychiatric conditions and co-occurring neurodevelopmental disorders like intellectual disabilities and autism. For young men who are experiencing complex behavioral, psychiatric, and educational difficulties, Liberty Point offers the opportunity for residential treatment in a safe and secure environment that encourages growth and self-responsibility. Our primary focus is on encouraging constructive change and personal growth, learning positive ways to get appropriate attention, improving behavior choices, developing a sense of responsibility for actions, learning problem-solving skills, and developing thinking patterns that support positive relationships. We help prepare these young men to return to a home, a less restrictive environment, or to independent living. Liberty Point Academy, located on the main residential campus, is our fully licensed special education school. Our educational program helps students improve academic performance during treatment through targeted instruction for seventh through 12th grade. What makes Liberty Point Academy unique is that our program offers a revolutionary curriculum infused with career exploration and vocational training benchmarks in each course offered. While the youth’s Individualized Education Plan (I.E.P) is closely followed, lesson plans focus on empowering students to learn the skills necessary for independent living and transitioning into the world of work. BRANCHES Staunton – a service of Liberty Point – is a partial hospitalization program (PHP) that was opened in early 2025 for male and female patients ages 11-17. This is an intensive treatment opportunity for youth who do not require long-term residential care but do need more than traditional outpatient care in a secure and supportive environment. Continuum of Care: • Intensive Psychiatric Residential Treatment provided within a 42-bed secure setting • Secure residential treatment • Fully accredited education and vocational programs • Program Features for Residents with Autism
