Bongalo is an innovative travel & accommodation app, empowering travelers to experience Africa with ease and comfort while enabling hosts with the ability to receive payments seamlessly.
Founded in 2017, in Bamenda, Cameroon as a real estate platform, Bongalo pivoted in 2019 as a booking platform and launched in Kigali, Rwanda where the company currently houses its headquarters. Since then, even after just launching at the onset of the covid19 pandemic that took over the world, the vision of the company to enhance travel across Africa by connecting travelers to affordable accommodations and cutting costs did not deviate as the company continued to build in the pandemic. It grew so fast and expanded its booking service to Cameroon in September 2020.
The company now is present in 3 African countries with plans for 4 more expansions in 2022.
