Alabama Farmers Cooperative (AFC) provides farmers in the Yellowhammer state a range of agricultural supplies and services. The coop's offerings include animal feed, crop fertilizer, and home-gardening items, such as seed and hand tools, as well as grain storage. AFC comprises 37 member associations, including some 90 retail locations. Expanding through joint ventures, it boasts the largest farmer-owned agriculture business in the southeastern US. AFC owns Bonnie Plants, one of the biggest suppliers of vegetable and herb plants for the home gardener, and BioLogic, a manufacturer of forage products for wild game. AFC also operates SouthFresh Farms, a catfish fish farm that supplies the foodservice industry.
