Black Diamond (formerly Clarus Corp.) caters to expert skiers, snowboarders, rock and ice climbers, and other outdoor types. The company makes and distributes climbing equipment (carabiners, harnesses, helmets), backpacks, tents, trekking poles, headlamps and lanterns, gloves and mittens, skis, bindings, boots, avalanche safety equipment and more under the Black Diamond and Gregory Mountain Products brands. Predecessor company Clarus, which provided procurement and sourcing software, liquidated its assets and purchased outdoor products firm Black Diamond Equipment in mid-2010 and adopted the Black Diamond name in 2011.
