Description Founded in 1988, APS is dedicated to the advancement and representation of scientific psychology across the full range of research areas in this diverse field. With approximately 25,000 members around the world, APS members include the leading scientists, scholars, educators, and students in the field. APS publishes six highly respected scientific journals, hosts an annual US-based conference and a biannual international conference, publishes a member magazine and related digital content, and has a broad public outreach and policy advocacy program that raises the visibility of APS members, their research, and psychological science as a whole.
From a staff of two at its founding, APS has grown to a staff of 32 highly collaborative, congenial, creative, and competent individuals. We welcomed a new CEO in November of 2020 and embarked on a strategic planning process and a period of positive culture change that is ongoing.
