From cameras to TVs to home videos, Thakral brings it around. The company imports and wholesales brand-name consumer electronics (digital video cameras, audio products, plasma TVs, notebook computers) in China and Hong Kong. Thakral also manufactures and distributes DVDs, CDs, and videocassettes; its movie licenses include Disney, MGM, and Warner Home Video. Other operations include contract manufacturing (DVD players and components) and the manufacture of digital video compression cards used in digital video recorders. The founding Thakral family owns about 25% of the company.
