Fans of the old time pizza parlor can still shake their groove thang at these restaurants. Shakey's USA operates and franchises a chain of about 60 restaurants in half a dozen states that serve a variety of pizzas along with other quick-serve menu favorites, including fried chicken and Mojo potatoes (fried potato skins). Many of the eateries also feature a buffet-style all-you-can-eat menu, along with a salad and dessert bar. Found primarily in Southern California, most of the restaurants are operated by franchisees. The chain was founded in 1954 by Sherwood "Shakey" Johnson. Shakey's is owned by holding company The Jacmar Companies.
