    I worked at ABP part-time

    Pros

ABP is great. Good pay, beautiful beaches. There are raises every year and bonuses for the number of days worked each summer, plus more bonuses for staying until the end

    Cons

You must work until the very last day before you leave for school, which shouldn't be a problem but is for many people. Often cranky beach goers

  2. "Very poor management"

I worked at ABP full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

For MBAs from BSchools, the first one year of the Corporate Trainee programme is well-rounded with measurable evaluation metrics and ample On The Job learning opportunities.

    Cons

It is post confirmation after the one year programme that they find it hard to retain or give suitable work to their Managerial Cadre employees. And a lot of negativity existed on the sales floor, with bosses running departments like their personal fiefdom.

    Advice to Management

Professionalism comes with disciplining of mid-level managers, corporate managers and DGMs. There is no discipline or ethic. It still smells of owner-driven negativity, that is the curse of many Indian business conglomerates.

I worked at ABP full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    1. Never delays in paying to the employees
    2. Very strict regarding manhandling or abusing of employees inside office premises. HR actions are immediate.

    Cons

    1. Growth is far fetched and still not visible.
    2. Management is full of non qualified people who doesn't understand either market's or employee's need. Hence keep repeating failures.
    3. Appraisal is perception oriented and not performance oriented. You can perform excellent throughout the year and still get no raise or promotion.
    4. Work culture is pathetic.
    5. No proper training or employee development programmed.

    Advice to Management

Come out of your orthodox closet.

    Negative Outlook

    I worked at ABP full-time

    Pros

ABP has a fantastic heritage and a great focus on rightful journalism.

    Cons

In recent years it has not proved to be a great forward thinking entity. Its move into electronic media was successful with news channels, but failed when it came to entertainment media. The entertainment channel failed badly and there has been no active movement into digital space either. It seems the changing times has not been well grasped by the management.

    Advice to Management

The organisation should focus on re-training of employees instead of firing them, and maintain the goodwill that it has created

    Pros

Culture and values are at the core of this institution. A highly content driven & technology enabled organisation providing perfect platform to learn 360 degree Marketing Solutions.

    Cons

Print, which is the pillar of the organization, has been largely limited to Bengal as a Market and as a policy. Very high on maintenance.

    Advice to Management

Carry on with the good work Sir.
