Pros

Cons
The environment in the creative services department is toxic. Instead of encouraging collaboration and teamwork, designers are silo-ed and pitted against each other. Designers are told to work against each other instead of teaching and learning from each other. The only employees that succeed in this department are the ones that stay silent and never challenge management with anything at all. No designer is encouraged to help make the department better. Everyone is expected to do their work and sit there and shut up or else. Management is afraid of any conflict, even healthy conflict. It's commonplace for management to play favorites and stunt the growth of other team members which in turn creates bad morale. Management lacks professionalism—is petty, holds grudges, and talks bad about former and current employees openly and frequently. Designers and project managers have been screamed at, belittled, had doors slammed on them, etc. Other departments and anyone within ear range have all been privy to this bullying behavior. Sadly this department is lacking when it comes to basic knowledge about design fundamentals and current trends. They are stuck somewhere in the mid 90s. If bevel and emboss or drop shadows on text comes back into style, then woohoo, they are in luck!
