Pros

The people are genuine, motivated, and all-around great to work with. If you want an opportunity to see what it's like working in a global work environment this is a good place to do so. Traveling to medical institutions and hearing success stories from students using the platform for their exams is rewarding.

Cons

Lack of growth and no clear career path to follow in most of the roles. The role is based in New York but essentially all of the decisions are made by those in Berlin. Management can and will change your job responsibilities or even your entire role without the decency of having a conversation with you first. Its major draw is traveling to institutions but when that is not happening the work can feel redundant. Cross-functional collaboration is hard to come by and you are usually met with a reply along the lines of "stay in your lane." There is a disconnect between what management thinks is acceptable for being in NYC vs. what actually is regarding areas such as salary and work hours.

Pros

You will get to work alongside smart, young professionals in a up-tempo office environment. Meetings are scheduled on the fly and there's excitement around every corner of the office. You will need to be a talented public speaker to land this role, and you will become an even more skilled thought leader within months after starting. While the company has over 250 employees, it still feels and acts like a start-up. Talent is brought in from all corners of the world, which enriches relationship-building and provides unique perspectives. Plenty of PTO and work-from-home options available, with other NYC-related benefits if you live locally and can take advantage.

Cons

An unpredictable and stressful travel schedule may leave you scratching your head. You may only get 3 days notice to book your flight to go accross the country. Yes, travel is a fantastic perk and privilege, but this job will challenge your work-life balance. Inadequate, infrequent performance reviews leads to confusion amongst you and your colleagues. Lack of personal financial growth is particularly discouraging when you work for a rapidly growing company. You will wonder what value you have when holidays and career milestone pass, but nothing changes.

No real cons other than working in a traditional start-up environment.
