I worked at AVST full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    none to at this time

    Cons

AVST is selling a dying technology, limited resources, average resources at best, little support, and every 6 to 7 years they have a layoff (why hire and try to grow) terrible guidance

    Advice to Management

spend less on marketing, invest more in your markets, and find better / stronger resources, consistently little guidance and significant oversight

I have been working at AVST full-time

    Pros

Sharp product development team, software channel sales and support strategy are generally well executed. Excellent benefits, stock options, realistic revenue and growth expectations from the top. Ongoing training and industry expertise encouraged.

    Cons

Long ramp up period and technical training for new reps to be effective.

    Advice to Management

Be concerned by competition, but also let it motivate you to achieve more than they can.

    Pros

At the grassroots there are some very nice and knowledgeable people.

    Cons

Product set is at End of Life. Company is poorly managed. There is little product direction or vision for the world beyond Voicemail.

    Advice to Management

Sell the company, let your equity partners take their cash and split.

    Pros

Solid good products and highly skilled work force.

    Cons

Struggling with changes within company structure.

    Advice to Management

Recent merger/acquisition of Active Voice division from NEC Infrontia has not had the full attention of the management and marketing departments. They need to better integrate and understand the values and opportunities of both their old and new work force and product lines.
