      Pros

      - 3 month onboarding process - Training checklist encourages both you and your mentor (s) to experience a wide array of situations or procedures you may see on the unit - kind and welcoming staff can really make you feel like part of a team (Buerger Building) - Nursing manager(s) are chill, willing to help you talk to patients and other staff if needed - the pay is quite generous for new grads (I made 90k in year one and 95k year two, when I began to take on charge duties, precepted a student or two, and of course weekends/holidays with otherwise no overtime)

      Cons

      - short staffing and ratios, most often 5 patients a night (Med Surg), but have had nights where it was 6 or 7 per RN with no CNAs - consequently if any of your seniors call out, you may be Charge without much preparation - may be tough working with flow management and ER to send patients where they truly should go - many people have difficulty handling 3 12's weekly, especially on nights, it is difficult to make time for family and friends if you value sleep (although that is any nursing position)
