I have been working at Account Control Technology (More than a year)
Pros
Great opportunity to advance in company
Cons
Hard to get people on phone
I have been working at Account Control Technology full-time (Less than a year)
Pros
The coworkers are for the most part, pretty cool to work with, and most of them just mind their own business
Cons
Management basically chooses favorites-these favorites are essentially exempted from following the same collection laws that collectors like me have to follow because we'll be let go if we don't . I'll see them break policy and be let off the hook while I may have been fired for the same infraction-not cool. Be more fair across the board with discipline, not just when it is convenient for the company
Advice to Management
Train your managers to be a little more compassionate, rather than money-hungry. Management needs to realize that we are all humans, helping THEM reach their goals... not just robots. Thanks
I have been working at Account Control Technology full-time
Pros
Great bonus potential, amazing atmosphere
Cons
Stress level, the constant grind of collections
I worked at Account Control Technology full-time (More than 3 years)
Pros
If you are a Frontline representative or at the executive level there is money to be made in this company. They mostly follow the collection laws when it's convenient. Training is pretty good but not enough time listening to calls before doing the actual job. Bonus plan is great if all you're there for is money.
Cons
If you are admin or support staff you should work here for love of your job not for money. This company is so policy-driven now and they have forgotten that they have individual people working for them. There is no communication and no discussion when something new comes out that may be controversial. This is truly just a job not a career and there is no room for compassion. There is some inconsistency with the way that collection laws are supposed to be followed. If you are a high performer you will not be fired. If you are a low performer they will follow all of their policies to a tee and you will be out the door. There are people there with exactly enough absences to be fired that are walked out there are high performers there with more than twice the amount of absences that should be fired that are still there. HR is so policy-driven that they make excuses when you bring these things up. Particularly in a couple of the sites the director of the site decides what HR policies to follow and HR is just there to make sure they happen. Benefits used to be decent but aren't so much now. Can't go to HR for benefits either they will just refer you to a toll-free number in the main office where people never call you back. Or refer you to the toll free number for the company that has your benefits. When really all you want to do is talk to a person.
Advice to Management
Reevaluate your perception of the people that work for you. They are people not machines and not just employee numbers. Employee satisfaction is not just driven by money and by the way, upper management talks about how much money the company made last year but the employees especially support staff are not seeing a dime of that. It's been all about cutbacks for the last year or so. Yes the bonus plans are really really great but again money is not everything. An employee satisfaction survey would tell you how people really feel and you should listen to that. It should also be administered by an outside source so that you don't just get the answers you are looking for you get real true feedback. Following policy is easy but your motto used to be about people not policy.
