I worked at Acme Tools full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Everyone is enjoyable to work with and it is easy to take time off if need be. The manager, Dennis, is great. The job requires a lot of movement, which is great for those who do not like sitting at a desk all day. Mood is relaxed, with the radio playing all day and frequent casual conversation between employees.

    Cons

Work can often become somewhat repetitive.

    Advice to Management

    Rotate tasks within warehouse.

I have been working at Acme Tools full-time

    Pros

Pay is fairly good, benefits are decent, fun work environment, and feels like a family owned company instead of a big corporation

    Cons

The biggest one is the hours for salary. Required rotating Saturdays, no cutting a day during the week to make up for the extra day. Every other week is a 65 hour work week with no compensation in time or money.

    Advice to Management

Maybe give a little consideration to flexibility when employees work an extra day - a comp day during the week or whatever. It doesn't feel right to put in over 40 hours and still have to use vacation time to take time off.

I worked at Acme Tools full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

First line managers control much of their destiny. Owners are personable and available. The hours are good but long. Working enviroment is positive.

    Cons

Company wants to grow but is stuck in a transition. Corporate can be difficult sometimes. Make sure you have a decent general manager because he has considerable influence on information getting back to corporate.

    Advice to Management

Give the first line managers flexibility on important issues.

I have been working at Acme Tools full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They do have benefits. They pay is pretty good for the location. No Sundays. Rotating Saturdays. Every 6th for me.

    Cons

Some micro-managing. All too often you hear everyone's gossip. Health insturance are only 50% employer paid.

    Advice to Management

Space out the IT dept to help keep everyone from stepping on one anothers toes.
