Good Place to Grow
Apr 18, 2023 - Account Manager II in Austin, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Adlucent was my first employer in the marketing professional world after college. They will train you from the ground up! I am happy to have grown my career here so far. Being a mid-size agency, you get lots of exposure through larger-name clients, but also, the closeness of a smaller team. The culture and people here are top-notch. Looking forward to continuing my career with Adlucent.
Cons
No cons come to mind.

Pros
- The people that have been there for under 5 years (a generalization but around there is accurate) are truly fantastic to work with and get along with.
Cons
- As an experienced hire~ I truly felt that my time at Adlucent was a waste. - Leadership team is unethical when it comes to ensuring job safety. While the social team was worried about layoffs, they were planning on spending money for a company trip out to Austin without providing clarity to those worried about their jobs. - Benefits offered here are so far below industry standard. You could do better pretty much anywhere else. - Search people running social accounts and managing social employees~ people that have no experience with social partners or doing the job of social marketing make promises to clients the social team has to keep. - Leadership team does not support social growth or show that they are capable of leading a social team. - Sales team cannot and will not learn how social works and therefore new clients are few and far between. - Client retention is terrible. Everything at this point are small accounts that leave after a year for better agencies. - People that have been there for more than 5 years are "in the club" and everyone else pretty much (speaking specifically to the social side of the house) has to constantly fight towards a goal that there isn't hope in achieving. - Lack of defined development path for experienced hires, again for social specifically (Supe and up)

Great place to start your career AND stay if you're lucky; people are top-notch
Jan 5, 2023 - Senior Account Supervisor in Austin, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
My personal experience has been great. I started here in an entry-level position and stayed throughout the years to become a supervisor. This is largely due to the fact that I've loved my managers and the teams I've been on. Mostly everyone I've worked with has been self-aware, smart, considerate, willing to help and understanding - people I would hang out with outside of work if that's your thing. Training and education opportunities are fantastic so even if you start your career here and only stay for a year or three, the knowledge you gain is 100% transferable and can take you far whether you continue with agency life or not. Seeing this company evolve throughout the years, I truly believe senior leadership as a whole tries the best they can. While at times the job can be stressful, I truly feel that I have the flexibility to take the time I need to tend to anything in my personal life, and that my managers would be empathetic and understanding through it all. Because of this, I would only consider leaving if I found a dream job non-agency opportunity, or if I got offered an insane amount of money elsewhere.
Cons
Your experience is largely dependent upon whether you're compatible with your team/manager. // Manager experience and style can vary from team-to-team (from bad to great) Q4 can be very stressful depending on your client. // Salary may be decent for agency life, but just okay compared to non-agency life (prob. the case for most places though). // Medical benefits from parent company is expensive and not great depending on your needs. // Being part of a remote-forward company can be a con depending on your work style (if you're not in Austin, TX where you can go to the office).

Stellar Career Growth, People, and Work-Life Balance
Jul 18, 2022 - Account Manager II in Austin, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I have been working at Adlucent for ~3 years and have had a great experience so far. I was hired as an SEM Specialist (Digital Marketing Specialist) and have been promoted to an Account Manager on one of their a large enterprise accounts. I was given the tools and opportunities to grow my career early on (which is awesome/not the typical agency standard)! Additionally, my co-workers rock. Everyone I work with is down to earth and nice to collaborate with. We have an office in downtown Austin, but it is optional. I love the work-life balance WFH provides. Overall, I've had a great experience with this company!
Cons
6 months ago I would have listed salary as a con, however, they recently bumped all salary tiers. It is on par/above the industry standard now!

A great place to get your foot in the door
Aug 12, 2022 - Digital Marketing Specialist in Austin, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
1. The company culture is really good and they try to make everyone feel involved and welcome. You will definitely get along with most of the people you meet 2. They really value education, so if you feel like you know nothing going it they will teach you everything you need to know and those skills are very valuable and transferrable. 3. Paid search is a very lucrative field and an extremely good field to have intel about. 4. The training pod is the best.
Cons
1. The pay is pretty low and you can definitely find something much better somewhere else. 2. A lot of people seem to be leaving the company for better opportunities. 3. You could get unlucky and get a bad micro-manager like I did and suffer while everyone else has a blast and gets promoted.

Great Job, Poor Personal Experience.
Oct 22, 2022 - SEM SpecialistRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Solid pay for an entry level position.
Cons
Truly felt as if my career was not taken seriously by my supervisors. Basically felt like I was on an island by myself even though the rest of the pod got to work together regularly.

Sinking Ship Due to Poor Leadership
Mar 25, 2022 - Account Manager in Austin, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
WFH Great training and opportunities to learn in the SEM position
Cons
- Medical benefits are awful and have no prospect of improving any time in the foreseeable future since that is under the jurisdiction of Advantage (the parent company) - Leadership is more reactive than proactive when it comes to internal company issues. By the time they attempt to resolve problems, like retention issues, it’s too late and the company is dropping employees at uncontrollable rate. - They tell you to your face that you are valued but actions do not reflect that with many employees leaving feeling disrespected and unheard by their managers and leadership. - CEO has no direction or plan to hold on to experienced employees and client services is suffering. He prefers to invest more time and money into sales and bringing in new clients that no one has the capacity to run. Everyone is extremely overwhelmed and overworked unless you’re a new SEM or Director level.

account directors are all very savvy. coworkers are super chill, smart and friendly people
Cons
but range from being amazing hands-on available kind of directors to others that hardly show up and are grandfathered in to the days before the company was sold to advantage solutions in california. ceo is drunk at company events including and especially the quarterly company wide meetings. its embarassing. coworkers are super chill, smart and friendly people
