Pros
I had the opportunity to work on some of the worlds best wireless networks at the carrier and enterprise levels. I was pushed to become a better network engineer and was awarded with training and experience that I would not have received elsewhere. As a result, I have had many offers to work for Carrier's.
Cons
Sometimes the work conditions where tough. For example, working alone for many days, dealing with adverse weather conditions, snow shoeing to sites when the snow was deep, difficult terrain i.e climbing to sites.
