Toxic culture where staff are often overworked, undervalued, and belittled. Similar to other reviews on here, I witnessed the development of "managers" based on favouritism as opposed to their management skills or experience. This resulted in a very toxic, micro-managing, bullying style of management that has a huge impact on the mental health of staff.
As soon as I joined it was clear that a hierarchy existed based on favouritism and time spent at the company, which caused hard-working people to not receive their flowers as unprofessional and inexperienced managers got bonuses and pay rises galore for doing nothing but sending passive aggressive slack messages and bullying newer/ more junior members of the team. Members on my team with a similar workload were paid considerably more than me based on favouritism alone.
The environment can also be very childish. Positivity and enthusiasm is met with smirks and sniggers on zoom meetings. It feels like being in school where supporting and praising your co-workers is seen almost as a weakness. I witnessed management clearly laughing during company/ teams calls and blatantly messaging each other while younger/ more junior/ more enthusiastic members of the team spoke. Really hard to see this and continue to feel motivated in your role.
I did not personally have any interactions with CEO however I was told that he would shout so loud at staff in the office in meetings rooms that the whole office could hear. Not surprising that no one goes into the office.
I spoke with HR and management about the impact the working environment was having on my mental health and I was met with blank stares and even laughed at when I cried in a 1-1 meeting.
I heard numerous stories of people being bullied into resigning/ fired unfairly during my time at Airfinity. One example in particular was hard to witness as a very talented member of staff was forced to quit due to a disagreement with their manager.
HR are as toxic as it gets. They will jump on you and borderline harass you by all simultaneously sending numerous emails and messages. If they decide they do not like you, that's it. I was also pressured into writing a positive glassdoor review (which I refused) by HR as soon as I passed my probation as they are clearly trying to clean up their image with newer staff who maybe haven't experienced the reality of Airfinity yet. Any positive and vague reviews on here I would assume are the result of similar pressure from HR.
