    Pros

In a nutshell, it is difficult to understand ANCs outside looking in; it is hard to explain it from inside looking out. Many are quick to place judgement in haste without attempting to understand it first. I know, because I once was the one to do so when I stood outside looking in. Akima and its operating companies serve a mission in duality - it serves the alaskan native tribes through serving those who serve. As an insider I can say with utmost confidence that the company operates with high standard for ethics and integrity. They require hard work and performance expectations are high, but the rewards and opportunities for growth are there and abundant for those who seek them. You will get what you put in and be given a fair opportunity to suceed (or not). When you do good work, they will be noticed and rewarded just as the opposite will hold true.

Benefits are decent; not the best or the worst and comparable to any large or mid-size business'.

    Cons

Morale in Shared Services. While it is their job to provide the best customer service, there should be more efforts to acknowledge and recognize them more for their hard work. They do a lot for a lot of people.

For other "cons", there are and will be frustrating days. There will be people you like and not. The expectation for performance will be high and if you don't like pressure or high optempo, this may not be a right fit. There are the typical "cons" from working in any company that also apply here but nothing I would say is specific to Akima (with caveat that each operating company has its own culture and intricacies people other than their employees can speak to). But generally speaking, if there are unresolved issues that have not been dealt with the company or supervisor directly and have to be written about it online, then I would say it may not be a company problem.

    Cons

Management workflow problem. Manager that I report to has no vision .

    Advice to Management

A good leader don't blame team member for not getting the work done, a leader should find out the root cause and work together and take responsibility.

    Pros

Not much to say about Akima making fake reviews to cover up their inability to treat people like humans. Why NANA doesn’t survey its workers to find the real truth about Akima baffles me.

    Cons

Too many to list. But we’ll start with integrity. There’s as much integrity in this company as their is in DC politics. In fact there are many other similarities.

    Advice to Management

NANA — read these negative comments and believe them. Your subordinate managers aren’t what you think they are.

    Pros

Genuinely great people to work with who are very service oriented; Very stable financially; Rewards those who work hard; Appreciate that what we do takes care of others as opposed to only caring about the bottom line; Very charismatic CEO and Presidents/GM's; All around great company to work for

    Cons

Some departments are understaffed; Extremely fast paced to the point that you don't feel you can dive deep in to anything before quickly moving on to the next emergency; Benefits are good, but tend to be a bit pricey.

    Advice to Management

Keep winning business and hire great people to fill in the gaps.

Management does not care. All focus is on $-numbers and the bottom line.
Benefits not that great, and pay could be way better.

    Advice to Management
