Pros

Connemara Golf Course A Nice Corporate Office (It's primarily empty)

Cons

PAY: Is FAR below average, but if you're reading this upon receiving an offer letter you've probably already realized that. There will be no potential for any meaningful raise and you will have to ask for the standard 1-3% just to fight off inflation. From what I’ve gathered this is consistent across many departments. CULTURE: Alltech is a culture of CHANGE RESISTANCE. Even the smallest recommendation of process changes will be met with resistance and given the old adage "That's how it's always been done". This is a uniform way of thinking across many departments. This company is not built for reimagining and upper management intends to keep it that way in order to fit in, "don't rock the boat or risk being thrown off". ATTIRE: Business Professional, suit and tie, no exceptions. COVID-19/WORK FROM HOME: At the time of writing this everyone has been mandated to return to the office with no flexibility going forward barring some medical exemptions and they're even pushing back on those as well. The work force has been segregated by vaccination status. If you choose not to get vaccinated you are forced to work in the old, dusty, production building. Vaccinated, no problem you work in the brand new building with everyone else but are still required to wear a mask. Regardless of your opinion on the pandemic/vaccines Alltech has gone completely hysterical over it. EVERY MORNING THERE IS A DEATH REPORT. Kentucky’s covid positivity rate, # of people in ICUs, # on ventilators etc. During the Delta variant they even went as far as to start posting pictures of those who have died young in the corporate announcements chat. The CEO has even gotten involved sending his own personal pleas via email essentially shaming anyone who doesn't feel comfortable getting the vaccine. I bring you this as someone who is vaccinated and supports it…just don't think it should be forced on anyone. INVESTMENTS (not the intellectual property kind don’t worry) Alltech recently built a massive brand new extension to their HQ. Despite the massive need for production facility expansion and staffing. This company is handicapped by its extreme inefficiency in producing its products and instead spends frivolously on its image. Maybe why pay is so stingy? IN SUMMATION: Alltech is an employer that relies blindly on loyal. Genuine hard working people won’t be valued or see recognition/promotion unless they're willing to give up their career and stay for 10 years. They intend to impress you with the benefits and a nice looking office instead of looking inward to solve the crippling turnover and inefficiencies. What went from a relatively small family owned tight knit company has become a cold, groupthink infested corporate shell of itself. Anyone who knows their worth doesn’t stay more than a year or two. Despite its seemingly white collar work environment and immaculate campus its somehow painfully blue collar in its feel. If you’re a young professional with even an ounce of ambition don’t start here with the expectation to make an impact or feel like you contribute. At best this should be a pitstop for your resume if you find yourself in need of a job, not a career.

Pros

Thought it would be a good company to work for! People seemed nice. Beautiful campus, except for parking. Long way and big hill to get from the parking lot to the main building. Would not want to walk that far especially in rain or in the winter.

Cons

I have never had anything like this happen to me before! I told everyone on Monday that I had gotten a job at Alltech in Nicholasville. I was very excited and after the first day, Monday, I really liked the people and the work environment. I was in training on Monday and Tuesday. After which I felt even more like it was a place I could really enjoy going to work. As I was going in on Wednesday morning I got a call from the staffing company telling me not to go in as the Company had decided I was "not a good fit'! I never had any indication from ANYONE at Alltech that was negative. When I asked why I was told that they thought I wasn't taking the job seriously because I didn't take any notes. I took copious notes in both days I was in training. I met with both the people I was going to work for at Lunch, one on Monday and the other on Tuesday. Both times I did not have a note pad with me as I was at LUNCH and they sought me out. So I couldn't take notes at that time. The only other thing I was unable to comply with was the dress code for females. You are supposed to wear a suit coat either in black or blue every day. I told the woman I was training with that I should be able to get one before my second week but didn't have any at this time. She said that should be ok. Either way I was not given the opportunity to question or answer any objections to my work ethic. As anyone who knows me I am a very hard worker and going into a new position especially I would never NOT take it seriously (excuse the double negative!!). Anyway I have been unable to talk to anyone at the staffing agency. Have left messages and sent email to no avail. I have NEVER had anything like this happen before and am devastated but the outcome.

Pros

Mistreating people tends to strengthen the bonds between those mistreated; thus, you will build a number of strong relationships at Alltech. Also, if you enjoy public humiliation, this is the place for you.

Cons

What else can be said that hasn't been said in the other interviews--extremely male-dominated culture, stunningly incompetent senior management, low pay, arbitrary terminations, etc.
