I worked at Amcor full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Decent benefits, pay and bonus program, safety is very important.

    Cons

Poor leadership, no value put on people development, bottom line is profits at any expense. Company has core values but they are just words on paper, leadership talks about them but does not walk-the-talk. Very punitive environment, currently going through restructuring.

    Advice to Management

Value your labor force, hire leaders that can actually lead people and gain success through their staff's experience and talent. Current leadership only cares about getting their own bonus. Respectfully utilizing the many, many talented people who do the actual work of creating and producing the products might provide a better result in your financials.

I have been working at Amcor full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Decent pay, some overtime, decent benefits, trying to reward employees

    Cons

Green or rookie managers in key positions, it's all about the senior managers, employees are a "resource", human resources tries, but, like the mangers, doesn't have a clue, everything is "reactive", experienced employees are never included in major projects, until it's too late, they have the degrees, so, they know it all!!! Bonus program is a carrot dangled infront of a donkey.

    Advice to Management

Treat the employees like they mean something and you'll be suprised what happens

    I worked at Amcor full-time

    Pros

Compensation and benefits. That's the only positive.

    Cons

Training is very sketchy, manager talks down while trying to "promote proper training." Manager cuts down how certain employees dress or look. Very unprofessional work dynamic for new hires.

    Advice to Management

Learn to choose your leadership better.

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    I worked at Amcor full-time

    Pros

Benefits were slightly better than at other companies. HR would sometimes finagle something to help out employees. Because some employees have been there for so long, there was a strong culture and a lot of specific knowledge.

    Cons

There was some resistance to change because "That's the way we've always done it". Large stratification between admin/support and manufacturing. Room for advancement existed, but was very slim.
