I worked at Amcor full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The pay, and the hours before it was changed. They took care of the employees and made us feel appreciated during my first year and a half

    Cons

The schedule was changed from 12 hrs to 8 hr days on a swing shift that took a toll on the employees.

    Advice to Management

Show the employees you care. When you're needed don't be afraid to get your hands dirty

I have been working at Amcor full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Amcor is a great place to learn and develop as an engineer. The opportunities to learn and correlate actions with business needs is something that is of great values. They allow the freedom to learn what is needed in addition to expanding beyond the role.

    Cons

Lack of standardization between North America sites. Miscommunication and lack of knowledge of operations between sites create for more challenging goals.

    Advice to Management

More standardization and knowledge of each site's operation before making business decisions.

I worked at Amcor full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The SAP system is first class.

    Cons

Mentally ill manager, who was in management. HR knew of her issues but continually did nothing to resolve the situation. She fired over 50 staff members over her 38 years at Amcor- Not due to performance but due to her insecurities.

    Advice to Management

Proactive HR at Amcor Flexibles is non-existent. Upper management is vastly overpaid, while their senior staff work til 2am.

guys that have been working here long-term don't like the change the company is trying to make to help the company grow

    Advice to Management

keep pushing for the changes you are trying to make. maybe getting more workers input before can help make the change easier.

    Pros

Competitive pay. Facility is very clean and climate controlled. Commendable Focus to reward positive work practices.

    Cons

Troubling disconnect between hourly paid coworkers vs salary paid coworkers. If an employee believes there is a problem in any area of the company and they voice said problem they are taking a risk in becoming black balled. Once your name is tarnished in this way, your career will be limited in growth and possibly lead to termination. Be ready to walk on eggshells and keep your mouth shut if you see even an obvious problem.

    Advice to Management

Humble yourselves. The plant can be managed remotely but the employees on the floor need to be there. Give them the respect that they deserve.

I have been working at Amcor full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Decent wages, ok insurance, union shop, GREAT floor workers with tons of experience, some with 30 to 40 years + experience.

    Cons

No work/life balance, management makes poor, rash decisions, never proactive, always reactive, maintenance program is a joke, can't seem to fix things right the first time, always the need to bring in outside help!!! Major equipment decisions are all made "up front", never include workers with 30+ years experience, new equipment can't do what it was intended to do, due to green managers making ALL tge decisions, floor workers are loosing their motivation to try and succeed, very low morale, no one gives a $£¡T anymore.

    Advice to Management

Start out fresh, clean house and get some managers with experience, that use the experience of the workers on the floor, create an "US" relationship, not managers vs union, if one succeeds, so does the other, reward your employees, don't just use them to get your own bonuses!!

    Pros

    Wage and a few coworkers

    Cons

Poor management, could not motivate the employees in any way. The feeling is that we are just numbers who needs to produce and deliver the products, just like programmed machines. No career plan.
