    Pros

Small company and good place to start your job career. You are given discretion to take decision to build architecture yourself which is good if you like working without anybody's mentoring.

    Cons

No one recognizes your hard work. Management has no understanding of how to keep employees happy. Also, don't expect any hikes in your salary ever.

    Advice to Management

Work on understanding employees needs and keep them happy.

I worked at ArchieMD as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very friendly environment in a peaceful research building inside University, location is great.
Employees are very friendly and skills diverse from artiest designer to software developer. Learn a lot during my internship as a mobile app tester. Schedules are flexible , monthly company meeting with free lunch provided , everyone gets a chance to share the ideas.

    Cons

There was a time that we had no project manager, instead, every employee reports to the owner daily in email. This is in my option not a good practice for a software development team, not at all.

    Advice to Management

Hire a professional project manager or at least team lead to organize the daily work, project scheduling, workload sizing etc.

The company is working on some really cool apps and makes great medical animations. Its exciting to see new products being launched in the app store as well as other places

    Cons

Sometimes it seems that we could use some more help on various projects in terms of number of people . People do get stressed from time to time.

    Advice to Management

We could use a few more hires

    Pros

You'll develop a sense of comradery with the other employees as together you endure the self-righteous arrogance of your boss.

    Cons

Dr. Levine will never appreciate any of the work his employees do. To him they are expendable and eternally replaceable. The environment is a deluded 1950's style workplace that attempts to create products that are on the cutting edge, while failing to do so do to lack of vision.

    Advice to Management

Just close up shop and let the employees enjoy a better workplace.

Need some more senior people. Many of the hires are junior.

The company comes up with some great ideas for educational interactive tools and software. The animations are also very superb.

    Cons

Promotions, raises, and bonuses are rare, this could be due to the size of the company and its resources within.

    Cons

Environment can be demanding at times because expectations are high.

I worked at ArchieMD full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good location, taxes are low. Affordable to live near the beach if you look around enough.

Healthcare software is a great industry with plenty of niche markets with growth opportunity.

    Cons

Does a daily to do list email sound like the the best way to manage a complex software project? Thats what you can look forward to here.

Employees will be judged mostly on how much work they put into their daily to-do list emails. If you learn to use the strike through command to indicate completed tasks you will be treated like a wizard.

If you spend too long here your skills will stagnate as they do not have a modern process or training. You will have to learn on your own outside work to keep up with the rest of the world.

    Advice to Management

Learn about modern agile software development and scrum. Invest in the tools that other software companies use such as JIRA for daily task tracking and ditch the to-do lists. Get into the past decade at least and the developers will get more efficient and actually learn how modern software development works.
