I worked at Ark Restaurants for less than a year

    Pros

It is a small, quiet office. The hours are flexible. There are free snacks and drinks for employees.

I worked at Ark Restaurants full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Easy to get hired. One of the few companies in town that still does paper applications where you can just walk in and talk to a manager face to face and not have to go through ridiculous online process or a million iny interviews.

    Cons

Typical corporate mindset. They do not care if you make money (tips) or not, all they care about is how much work they can get out of you for the $8.25 an hour they pay you. Management is never present on the floor to deal with costumer issues. Management has no labor restraints so expect to work more than your scheduled hours on an already overstaffed shift where no one can make money, all because it makes managements...

    Advice to Management

Hold onto to your jobs tight because you wouldn't make it off the strip where you actually have to be at least be a little impressive at the customer service respect and not just counting on the foot traffic of the strip.

I worked at Ark Restaurants part-time

    Pros

Great place to work and make connections. Most of the employees have worked for the company for may years and enjoy working there.

    Cons

Management needs to be revamped. Most managers have worked with the company for many years and it is shows because they don't seem to care anymore

    Advice to Management

Stop causing such stressful work environments. Getting a job done is probably more effective when the work environment isn't so hostile.

    I worked at Ark Restaurants

    Pros

Good pay once you get past entry level positions in management; strong network of locations to allow for transfer.

    Cons

Don't care about their employees; will toss you aside after years of service without a second thought. Put incompetent people in position they are unqualified to succeed in.

    Advice to Management

Go back to your roots where your employees were your first concern, before your stock price.

    Pros

Work hard, play hard As a high-end restaurant operator (in several locations), they pay well and likely more than some of the competitors.

    Cons

Company could invest more in some of the properties, some are aging and could use a renovation..

    Advice to Management

Nothing critical to say in regards to management, i enjoyed my time spent at Ark.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Ark Restaurants full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good salary and benefits and not too many hours a week.

    Cons

Untrustworthy: The CEO, Partners, and Managers break the first cardinal rule by being unable to separate the personal from business. Pretentious: It is a fast food restaurant group masquerading as fine dining. Run by idiots: General Managers have been with the company for decades and some have never worked anywhere else, so they are blind to how the industry is evolving and are clueless about new trends. Advice to Management

Get a clue. Hire real chefs and respect your management teams to do the jobs you hired them to do. Take the blinders off and see what's going on at "real" fine dining restaurants. Quit hiring your family and friends. That's so 80's!
