I have been working at AutoEurope full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

-Working here is a busy job. I like to be busy so this is good. The day goes by quickly. they schedule you for 8 and a half hours so you still get paid for an 8 hr shift. There is a lot of room to advance and change departments. The building is a really cool historic Portland building. I've never seen any bugs so I don't know what the other reviewer is talking about. The working space is open so you can actually see things other than a cubicle. There are a lot of opportunities to earn bonuses.

    Cons

It does get noisy during the busy times of the day. There is a lot to learn in a short amount of time so it can be overwhelming at first.

I worked at AutoEurope full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Really depends on what department you get in with. It will pay your bills and there is free parking.

    Cons

Absolutely a toxic and confidence destroying atmosphere.
*You only hear about when you did something wrong, never when you do something great that actually deserves to be acknowledged. I found almost all "supervisors" to be incompetent, rude, and condescending. Rules were often bent or twisted to cover their mistakes and lay the blame on you.
*I lost count of how many times I could hear the CEO screaming at someone the next floor down.
*Raises were unheard of and laughed at. I worked there diligently for 2 years and was cross trained in multiple departments and given "promotions" with no raise. I asked and was given a flat no.
*If you are not a "favorite", forget it. You're out. The cliques are worse then high school.
*Insane amounts of drama just everywhere. Supervisors dating employees, He said/she said rumor mill, etc.

In the end, I dreaded going to work and often left upset and crying. I felt so low, worthless, and depressed working there.

    Advice to Management

The place needs new management starting from the CEO all the way down through. Annual reviews of employees need to be done and raises given when due. Adequate training provided regularly on the programs and customer service. TREAT YOUR EMPLOYEES WITH RESPECT AND LIKE YOU VALUE THEM!

    I worked at AutoEurope full-time

    Pros

Has the money to afford to improve things technically.

    Cons

Won't. Found it dishonest and totally unaware of themselves. Claimed to work in a stack it didn't work in. Managers and coworkers were irrational and dishonest. Incredibly inefficient, full of tools that should have been replace 10-20 years ago, which they claim to know. Could all be easily worked out except it's lord of the flies in there. Has no conception of industry standards, is overgrown garage company.

    Advice to Management

You think you are tough on IT, in fact, you are letting them get away with murder, and making you look foolish. Ironically, that does make you foolish. At this point you probably have to pony up and hire a consulting firm... your needs are not complex.

    I worked at AutoEurope full-time

    Pros

It can be incredibly easy to get a job here when you need it. If you find a department that has very little exposure to upper management and has good people, you may not even notice the bad parts.

    Cons

It is a fairly toxic environment, where yelling and aggression are common. Don't sit against any of the brick walls, or else you may see silverfish come in and out. The physical location of your department may change without notice.

    Pros

If your willing to put in the work and have a can do attitude and a tough chin, the overtime opportunities are endless during peak season. If you pay attention you will find many valuable lessons that can be taken anywhere in life/business.

FYI I made plenty of money for someone my age with 5 years in the company and a willingness to show up each day and work.

    Cons

The work environment can be tough at times, the work expectations seemingly unmanageable. Work life balance can be skewed and 50+ hour work weeks spring to early fall.

    Advice to Management

Read other reviews on this and other sites and find out what your part in it is, see if you can improve the quality of life while employees are there.

    Pros

Potential to get clean if you are just out of rehab, and from out of state! They do have a large IT / Development team and from what I hear they are treated fairly.

    Cons

Like previous reviews this place is toxic and is a borderline half-way house disguised as a company. A large number of reservationists are from halfway houses from out of state (MA, PA, NY, NJ, etc). There have been multiple former and current employees who have died from overdoses in the last 2 years. So while this company is quick to take in those in rehab from out of state, they neglect to care about those employees who need help. The only rationale that makes sense is the "rehab" kids are cheap to hire and can be utterly and totally dominated - hence the relationship.

The reservatonists that are sober are treated, as a company strategy, as inferior and expendable. The CEO treats all employees in a way best described as totalitarian - think Vladimir Putin - no joke.

If you have any, any talent at anything do not waste your time with this place. This is a half-way house.

    Advice to Management

you are what is wrong with this country

    Pros

Good if you have felonies on your record and you don't have many options.

    Cons

Low pay and bonuses are pulled for the most trivial reasons. Everyone there hates their job except for a few people with positions that no one else will ever get to. Told there is room for advancement, but "advancement" at AutoEurope is always horizontal; the pay barely increases except for a slightly better bonus structure depending on the department you are "promoted" to. Absolute glass ceiling here.

The culture is grossly negative and treats its employees like disposable cattle (with decent justification, the turnover rate here is ABSURDLY high and 90% of the employees are completely expendable and treated as such). Literally all of coworkers' side conversations revolve around how they used to shoot heroin and commit crimes because most of them have just been released from jail or rehab. Most of them are also borderline moronic, hence supervisors' constant negative attention to the simple, avoidable mistakes being made by everyone on the floor.

Unless you are a felon or in sober living or both and don't mind being exploited for cheap labor in a shady call center, don't work here. Even if you are, shovel snow or something. Do anything other than this unless you want to slowly die on the inside and maybe actually die after you relapse with one of your coworkers and OD in the bathroom.

    Advice to Management

    Quit
