Pros

This space requires a minimum of 20 words. I can state with great certainty that there are none.

Cons

Micromanaging by inexperienced managers. Many would not be at junior level in other companies. Unwillingness to invest in current engineering tools that could significantly increase their competitiveness. Pay is at least 15 to 20 percent below market. Paternalistic attitude by management. Building is locked on Sundays ( my only explanation is that the owner wants employees home on Sundays) yet there is little to no opportunity for remote work.

Thank you for your comments. It is true that Banner Engineering is closed on Sundays (and closes at 7:00pm on weeknights and 1:00pm on Saturdays). The reason for this that Banner Engineering strives to maintain a good work-life balance. Part of demonstrating this is making sure that time away from work is encouraged! We believe our normal hours of operation during the work week and Saturday allow ample time for project work to move forward. Because of our strong growth, we continue to significantly invest in R&D, including doubling the size of our R&D facilities, hiring technical staff, and investing in new R&D systems that impact all engineering disciplines.

Boys club for management.

Pros

Great products, lower level management is fair and will fight for you to the boys club, well some will. Good benefits.

Cons

If you have an idea and you pitch it to upper management, good idea or not, it's only good if it comes from them and three months later it will. The human resource department is a joke, lack of privacy, judge you, and don't work for you. The harder you work the more you are taken advantage of.

Pros

People are very easy to work with until you hit HR or director level management and above.

Cons

Directors and higher level executives lack vision and focus. They are very concerned about what others think of them personally rather than doing what is best for the company. HR is ego driven and also writes glowing reviews for this site. "Growing Company with Many Opportunities" review is 100% HR.

I’d like to take a few minutes to respond to your comments about the inner workings at Banner. Building and growing a successful business is always a challenge—not just for Banner, but for all businesses in all industries. We have to deal with tough conditions beyond our control—even on a daily basis—that result from an ever-changing economy, reductions in the labor market, changes in technology and the marketplace, increased taxes and government regulations, supplier challenges, financing of the operation, increased need for security; the list goes on and on. Within any successful organization, then, there must be people in place who are not only able to take on the challenges and make tough decisions, but are willing to do so. At Banner, we feel highly confident in our decision-makers, those who strategize about the direction we’ll go. It is a testament to their abilities and good judgment to witness the steady growth we’ve experienced in each of the last six years, as well as the growing number of people we’re able to employ. Also, you mentioned another Banner review on Glassdoor entitled “Growing Company with Many Opportunities”, and it was your thought that this was a “fake review” created by Banner’s HR department. Let me assure you, it’s not. That posting does in fact contain a very positive sentiment, but it also includes suggestions for improvement--valuable insights for us. We’ve never created a “fake” posting anywhere, rather we simply respond to reviews that are posted by folks affiliated with us. Banner is a growing and successful organization with a tremendous culture, and while we recognize we’re certainly not perfect, we’re doing our best to keep improving.
