Joined for Stability, Left Feeling My Career Growth Was Stalled

I joined Basware looking for stability and long-term career growth. Being an established company, I expected a structured environment with clear processes, support, and opportunities to learn. Unfortunately, my experience was quite different. From the beginning, onboarding was not well organized, and role expectations were never clearly defined. A lot of time was spent following up for access, understanding processes, and figuring out responsibilities on my own. Instead of being given opportunities to learn and contribute, I often felt like I was trying to navigate everything without proper guidance. What disappointed me the most was that performance expectations were high, but the support and opportunities required to meet those expectations were limited. After investing more than a year of effort, I feel that this experience did not help my career grow in the way I had hoped. In fact, it feels like a setback rather than a step forward.

Pros

They pay for all airfare with the Corp Credit card

Cons

Started an account expansion team in 2026, led by an inexperienced RVP with little to no management skills and a very tactical approach. Product enablement in Finland did not translate to what customers owned. 5 weeks before accounts were assigned. Another 2 weeks before comp plans were issued. ARR price points were a fraction of what was communicated during the interview process. No customer information available in SFDC. Needed to access multiple systems to find contracts and customer entitlements. The expense reporting system is almost unusable.
