Management couldn't care less about the well being of employees
Pros
Most of the product is actually good quality and you do get gratis makeup if you are into that (but not any Disney makeup).
Cons
Working at besame taught me what a toxic workplace is, and I would never recommend working at this place to anyone. I have literal PTSD because of this job. Management smiles and acts nice to the public but behind closed doors, employees are crying, scared, and literally having nervous breakdowns. Management will never compliment good work, they only criticize and blame. If someone has a good idea, they steal it and claim it as their own. I heard management talk badly about every employee behind their back, sometimes sharing private information about their health or personal matters to other employees. I have also heard management make comments that are racist, fat-phobic, and homophobic (especially regarding trans people and drag performers). Yes they are P.O.C. but they have prejudice toward other P.O.C. races. During covid, when the shutdowns first happened, they tried to ask all of their employees to come back to work anyway, even though they were not legally permitted to do so and it was not safe. They will fire you at the drop of a hat, or they will work you so hard and underpay you so much that you feel forced to quit. No one is paid a fair wage, except the owners who literally buy a new exotic car every couple of months. There are a lot of bad workplace practices going on behind closed doors that they try to keep hidden, and I'm scared to even write this review even though I don't work there anymore because I know they will try to find out who I am and get retalliation. That's just what they are like- mean and underhanded. If another brand starts to look like competition, they will ask employees to try and sabatoge their social media or spread rumors about them to get them to fail. Other employees I worked with were usually sweet lovely people but everyone was always working through panic attacks and crying in the bathrooms on break. You will be guilted about taking time off, you will never get a raise or a bonus, and management will gaslight you until you break. There is a reason the turnover rate there is so high. Hardly anyone stays there longer than 1 year. The woman who runs this company is not the person she pretends to be in interviews; she is cold and selfish. This broke my heart because I truly admired her before I found out what she is really like. Not worth it. Run.
