BlueWave and their spinout companies do their best to have an inclusive culture. Everyone is welcoming and generally the executives are in touch with the staff.
Cons
The company has gone through a lot of growth spurts and it's important to vocalize how you want to develop alongside the company development.

Committed team that lives B-Corp values
Apr 16, 2021 - Anonymous Employee in Boston, MARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
BlueWave Solar is filled with committed team members who strive daily to uphold their B-Corp values. This mission is at the heart of everything they do, from progressive hiring policies, to environmentally sensitive solar development practices (e.g. agrivoltaics; floating solar), to the socially (and politically) active team. The progressive compensation plan (bonus structure; profit sharing) keeps everyone feeling very connected to the overall success of the company.
Cons
While the company is on a strong social/environmental mission, they can't lose sight of the need to succeed financially and remain profitable over the long run.

Outstanding place to work with minor growing pains
Sep 2, 2018 - Associate in Boston, MARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
BlueWave seeks out passionate, creative, and positive people. Cultivating and maintaining a culture of inclusion is clearly paramount to upper management. The organization puts together various company-wide social events throughout the year which catalyzes an employee closeness that one would expect from a startup. Many managers are passionate about being mentors and assisting their teams to get involved with interesting projects. Excellent parental leave benefits.
Cons
Being (what felt like) an exponentially growing organization, there are guaranteed to be growing pains. BlueWave did not provide competitive market salaries or benefits for several positions (believe this is being worked on). As a result, the best talent for various areas wouldn't sign on.

Pros
BlueWave is an amazing place to work. The people are all extremely kind, hardworking, and all genuinely care about the company's mission. The work culture is extremely friendly and social. We would do a lot of company events both in and out of the office and would get to know everyone very well. Upper-level managers are all great to work with and really care about every employee's experience and development.
Cons
As a growing company, BlueWave was a bit disorganized at times with shifting roles and tasks. However the company has grown a lot since I left and I don't believe this is much of a problem anymore.
