I have been working at Build Group full-time

    Pros

Great benefits: monthly premiums 100% paid by BG, strong vacation program (and employees are encouraged to take time off, in line with projects of course), Clipper Stipend for those using BART, regular events.
Great Culture: Strong engaged leaders that care about people, the ability to have an impact, given lots responsibility to get your job done.

    Cons

BG has grown a lot in the last few years, so it's operating very much still like a start up. They have hired a few senior folks in the administration area to help with this though.

    Advice to Management

Keep the small company feel, remaining involved with employees. I'm sure Build Group will continue to do great things!

I worked at Build Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They have high aspirations. Projects are challenging and people are good to work with for the most part. They empower their employees and hold them
    accountable.

    Cons

High aspirations, low integrity. High turnover. The company operates very lean, doesn't invest in resources for the employees and don't invest in their employees. Projects are bid lean, understaffed which leads to lack of quality and a poor reputation with owners.
