I worked at CLARCOR (More than a year)

    Pros

Best job I have ever had. Great freedom to make the position your own. Management is there for you and the training is also industry leading. I should have never left.

    Cons

That I don't work there anymore!

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work! Continue to listen to the sales force as they are the eyes and ears in the industry and out in the field.

I worked at CLARCOR full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

GE pay grades and time off policies

    Cons

BHA division was great when owned by GE. When Clarcor purchased division, it went downhill fast. Leadership cut off employees, very little communication or transparency. Culture was very negative and hard work was no longer rewarded, became very political, lots of favoritism, loss of productive culture.

    Advice to Management

I have heard there has been a change of management so maybe things are better, but my advice in 2015 would be to change leadership team all the way to CEO. Would also remove HR rating - of course HR would state it's a great place to work.

New management has updated the organizational structure to be more innovative and facilitate growth with a focus on new product development. Very positive future.

    Cons

Some of the organizational changes have been difficult on long terms who have been part of the past success of the company.

    Advice to Management

The changes and direction of the new management team have overall been good. Be careful to consider the advice of your experienced leaders.

I have been working at CLARCOR full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

For the most part people are great. I'd say most of the managers know what they are doing, which is a miracle for a company these days.
They will allow you to flex time or let you work from home occasionally
    Casual dress code

    Cons

    -No advancement for women.
-Technologically they are 20 years behind. The ERP system is terrible and you will have to do a lot of work manual. very little automation.
-Employees are very underutilized. They have smart people with advanced degrees doing clerical work that someone right out of college could do.
-Total lack of project management knowledge, very poor execution.
-Lack of communication, although that is getting slightly better
-They say they are Lean, but they do not know what Lean is.
-There are maybe two engineers in the whole company who know how to design, and will help you. The rest could care less.
-Lots and lots of fingerpointing and refusing to take responsibility
-People who should have been fired years ago are still there, while they laid off decent people.
    -Lots of unpaid overtime.

    Advice to Management

Figure out who your smart employees are and get them opportunities before they leave.

I worked at CLARCOR full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Decent benefits. Lots of people who love what they do and love the customers they support. It's hard to find dedication like this in many places... I hope the best for them given who they work for.

    Cons

Company was sold by GE to Clarcor. Some of the leadership should realize they can't do their job and that playing with others lives isn't a recreational event.

    Advice to Management

Find new blood. Gas turbine is stagnant GE management who thinks their roots in England gives them the right. Industrial Air management doesn't know how to lead... unless down is a positive direction. Let's throw days at the spinning wheel to get next year's numbers... Really?!
